Daily Reading: Phillipians 3

I like how this chapter starts with an upbeat praise saying, "Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord!" That sets a nice tone for this passage and message of hope. Verse 20 really hit me the most where it makes the statement that our citizenship is in heaven, because I had never thought of it that way before. 21 also is very important to me because before my grandma passed, her body wasn't the greatest by any means, and had various health issues that affected her daily. That brings such a joy to know that she can have live renewed where jumping, singing, running all are possible.
1Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord!
2Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh.
8What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.

18For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. 20But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
