Verse of Power: 1 Corinthians 1:27-29

While reading at school today, this really stuck out to me and meant a lot. Whenever we think we aren't able to make a difference, God thinks much differently. He'll choose the most unsuspecting of people to get his work done. Just look at David and Goliath. David surely was not bigger in size or greater in strength, but he had amour more powerful than anything Goliath could have brought upon him; the power of God!
27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him.

Review: Biblezine: Explore: The Complete New Testament


Recently I purchased this Biblezine from a local family Christian book store on a whim because it was on sale. And I'm definitely glad that I bought it. It makes the bible very easy to read with fun facts and verses off to the side and a NCV (New Century Version) translation of the new testament as the meat. It also includes bible reading plans at the end and notes which can be very convenient. It is slim enough to fit into my backpack and is nice for reading at school, however I wouldn't recommend it for studying or such because it is only the new testament, and is clogged up with sidebars that take up space although look nice and are cool to read. Also the new century version isn't the best for studying but ensures easy comprehension. Similar to "The Message"

The good word of God never dissapoints...

If you're wondering why I have posted so much today, its because:

Don't Go Walkin By Her Door

When you have any indication that whatever you're going to get into goes against gods word stop and eliminate whatever is holding back your relationship with God. There is no instant satisfaction that we get caught up with that can even compare to the grace of God. Money, girls, shiny wheels, all things that everybody these days rap about, never even compare to God. Not one but. They praise tangible things that breed death while inside you know there is no way they can feel good about themselves, and the only way they can fill that huge void in their lives is by salvation through way of the one and only God, Jesus Christ. I realized as I gave up things that comprimised my faith I didn't even have to give them up, rather god changed my interests so I didn't even desire them anymore. You don't have to "clean up your sins" for Jesus, as many of us think, because he will change us.

Paul Wright illustrates this issue of "walking by her door" which I'm sure we can all relate to. That sin that tuggs and pulls at us, and just when we think we can't overcome it, Jesus shows up.

Today's Bible Reading: Colossians 3

I'm not even going to bother to clipmark this passage. Colossians 3 has been one of my favorite chapters for a long time and I really believe that it is important to read the whole thing rather than me just annotating it. This was actually the bible reading for 9/10/07 although I got way behind and wasn't able to get to it until today.

This chapter is what really helped me put to death my sexual impurity and was the beginning of my new life in Christ.


Colossians 3
Rules for Holy Living
1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

The IGN Boards Christianity Board is a great place to ask questions, glorify god, and seek fellowship. I have found the community that is built there to be very faithful and accepting to all just as Jesus would have wanted it to be. The only downside is that it costs $19.99 a year to get access to insider, which also gives you great insider content and a bevy of other insider only boards. I would highly recommend it as is it currently growing by the day, as it is a fairly new board to the very prestigious IGN Boards lineup.

John, The Apostle

I forgot how good john's amazing account of Jesus is! I've kinda been going through a tough time right now because one of my best friends and brothers in Christ is turning catholic after being Christian for a long time. This is really hard for me because he is the one who really led me to Christ and taught me so much. I turned to John for wisdom and it didn't let me down at all.

Daily Reading: Colossians 1 (Part 1)

It was very hard to select just a few verses from this great chapter which is why I had to split it into two parts so it would fit into the publishing limit (1000 characters).

When a tree bears fruit it is good because it produces a sweet tasting food by a product of its strong foundation and upkeep. The same is with us. We are capable of bearing fruit by sharing the great word of god to others who maybe never even have heard such a message. This strengthens our relationship with God, but also gives the opportunity of eternal life to others! That right there is without a doubt the greatest gift anyone could ever give.

As Matthew 6:19 says: " 19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Daily Thought of The Day

You know the cliche saying, "You've only got one life to live." The way I look at it, you only have one life to live but you have a lot more lives to give. Challenge yourself to sharing the message of hope with somebody, no matter how bad you don't want to.

Here in Washington there is a revolutionary youth ministry called Generation Church that is sure to make a mark on kids for a lifetime. With their high-powered preaching and rockin' worship, they reach out to the community in a way never experienced before. Pastor Judah Smith is the head pastor and a man who has a unsurpassed passion for the Lord Jesus Christ. Check out the podcast here

Daily Reading: Phillipians 3

I like how this chapter starts with an upbeat praise saying, "Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord!" That sets a nice tone for this passage and message of hope. Verse 20 really hit me the most where it makes the statement that our citizenship is in heaven, because I had never thought of it that way before. 21 also is very important to me because before my grandma passed, her body wasn't the greatest by any means, and had various health issues that affected her daily. That brings such a joy to know that she can have live renewed where jumping, singing, running all are possible.
1Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord!
2Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh.
8What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.

18For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. 20But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

Christian Artist Spotlight: Paul Wright




I have been a huge fan of Paul's for a long time now, dating back to his first album, Fly Away. Now he is on the verge of releasing his newest album Kingdom Come, and kicking off the album tour. He has a pretty unique hip-hop, acoustic type of style that is very sooting to listen too. I'd definitely recommend checking him out, while he might not be the most known christian artist, he definitly plays up there with the best.

Daily Reading: Philippians 2

I signed up for the read the new testament in a year over at BiblePlan.org and i'll try to post my clipmarks annotation everyday once I read the daily chapter. Think of the clipmarks as a highlighter for online scripture from which I intend to share with you. With my limit of 1000 characters I think I have picked the verses which meant the most to me. The plan emails me a chapter every day except weekends, and I would definitly encourage you to go check it out! The first section of verses is dealing with imitating christ's humility and the second regards "shining as stars. Finally the third and fourth are about timothy and epaphroditus.

First Post: Why Blog?

Ahh nothing does it quite like your first time in anything. This happens to be my first blog and I'm excited to kick off hopefully a long journal for both myself and the readers who can potentially learn from my logs, enjoy reading about my life, and interact with others in a sort of community that many other blogs are lucky enough to have.

First off, many would ask the question, why blog? Well, great question. Having a blog can be a very rewarding thing to commit too. It gives you a chance to reach a potentially infinite amount of readers and inspire and entertain them with your words.

From my point of view, it gives me something to be proud of and journal electronically since I hate writing things down on paper, and gives me a chance to combine things that I happen to be passionate about. Such as technology; I love working with computers and am very interested in the latest and greatest in technology, feeding this love of 'tech' with a copious amounts of feeds which I keep up with on an almost daily rate.

A passion for Jesus Christ is something that I think everybody should strive for and I like to think that I have that. Here is a chance to share that collectively and put all the thoughts that constantly circulate in my mind on to paper... er e-paper.

I look at this new fresh blog as a chance to also challenge myself and stir that fire for our savior king who loves us so.
